We were blessed to be invited to share our ministry vision with a local church in downtown Waynesboro today! It was such a pleasure to see so many old friends there, we felt very much at home among this amazing flock! After the two of us shared together about our vision for West Africa, Justin preached a message on “Going All In”.

The sermon title came from a new song that we both have fallen in love with. I first heard it a few weeks ago, while driving down the road with the kids listening to our local Christian radio station, and the first time I heard it, the words just pierced my heart! It’s called “All In” by Matthew West.
“So, I step to the edge and I take a deep breath
We’re all dying to live but we’re all scared to death
And this is the part where my head tells my heart
You should turn back around but there’s no turning back now
I’m going all in
Headfirst into the deep end
I hear You calling
And this time the fear won’t win
I’m going, I’m going all in”
Isn’t this song so relatable on so many levels?
We are all going to face these “hold your nose and jump” moments in life, both in the secular world and in our spiritual lives.
Whether it’s your first high pressure job interview, or proposing to the love of your life, or maybe a mid-life career change. Whether you are intentionally sharing your faith for the first time, or standing up for your beliefs at school, or confessing a secret sin to an accountability partner etc.
What are we going to do when these opportunities are staring us in the face?
I can tell you, we are right there with you! We have been facing more “hold your nose and jump” moments in the past year than we could have imagined. Some of our biggies:
1. Taking our kids to a third world country in Africa on a short-term trip
2. Standing before our church family, and telling them that God wants us to move to Africa to serve Him
3. Selling over 80% of our personal belongings
4. Being away from our kids for a whole week to attend training
And Now…
5. Embarking on support discovery or “friend raising” – Presenting God’s vision to brothers and sisters in Christ and asking them to consider joining us in this ministry.
God has been so good! It has been so encouraging to see God raising up a team of prayer partners and financial partners to join with us! Just in this first month, we have seen God raise up over 40 prayer partners, and provide 27% of our monthly support goal, as well as 10.8% of our goal for one-time outgoing expenses! We still have a long way to go, but we know God will provide.
If you are interested in joining us to reach West Africa for Christ, we would love to have you join our team! You can learn more about becoming a prayer partner or financial partner by clicking HERE.
Thanks!
