Reconnecting

As of today, we have officially been living and serving in West Africa for 20 months straight. In that time so many things have happened! We have truly been stretched, molded & grown as individuals and as a family. We have had good days and really hard days. We have been immersed in a completely different culture, and taken a look at the world through a whole new lens. Hopefully if Covid doesn’t interfere, we will have the joy of telling many of you about it in person very soon. That’s right, we will be traveling to the US this fall!

We are very excited to see our hometown family and friends again!
Please pray for us as we prepare for this home assignment reentry. Initially I thought it would be easy to pack up and go on “vacation”. The truth is, the preparation is difficult and the time away itself will probably be pretty strange. I find myself wondering… How will we handle the cultural whiplash? Will coronavirus fears steal our joy of reconnecting with family, friends and supporting churches? Will saying goodbye the second time be harder than the first?
I guess we will soon find out.

God bless and hope to see you soon!
