Rainbows

“My heart leaps up when I behold a rainbow in the sky” -William Wordsworth

We are now in the second half of rainy season 2022. If you’ve been following our journey very long, you probably already know that I have a love-hate relationship with rainy season. The first rains in June are always such a welcome relief for the dry ground. It’s a bit like springtime when everything comes back to life after months of dormancy. I enjoy seeing the wild grasses shoot up, and the interesting bugs and birds move back to the area. However the humidity is a struggle. Without air conditioning there is no such thing as “climate-control” here. Not to mention, it gets really hot!

A few weeks ago, I remember saying to our kids: “You’d think with all this rain, we would at least get more rainbows than we do!” So far we had only seen 2 rainbows this year after many, many storms. Well we finally got some rainbows over the weekend! In fact, we had 5 rainbows within 4 days!

Whenever I see a rainbow, I’m like a little kid again…I yell for everybody to stop what they are doing and come look at the beautiful rainbow with me. They don’t last long and a picture doesn’t do it justice…you just have to be there.

Rainbows remind me of the goodness of God. I’m so thankful for these little blessings!
